Jane Goodchild

Jane Goodchild’s latest collection was inspired by her recent trip to Havana, Cuba. Influenced by the scene and culture she found there, she took graphic images and the spirit of the revolution and flowed them through every stitch of her new collection. Her luxury leather combinations and wonderful detailing bring a very modern look and a chic edge to each piece. Her functional concepts and bespoke hardware make each bag very desirable. Jane’s final touch on each piece in the collection is her signature zip pull tassel (who doesn’t love a good tassel?!). Each bag is structured and shaped so beautifully, it’s really hard to pick a favorite!

Jane Goodchild has always wanted to do something creative, but like many of us, when young, the “what” was a difficult question to answer. Jane both studied graphics and worked in advertising before finding that fashion had always been her calling.

At the forefront of the fashion design industry for well over 15 years, Jane graduated from Ravensbourne College with a degree in Fashion & Textiles. After graduating, she was selected by Calvin Klein, from thousands of other graduates, to work for his iconic fashion house in New York. During her five years with this global brand, Jane experimented in designing ladies Ready to Wear, CK shoes, and Collection Handbags, where she gained a wealth of knowledge and experience in the industry.

Her next career move saw her return to the UK as a Freelance accessories designer for some of the biggest and most famous luxury brands in the world. Household names such as Mulberry, Jimmy Choo, Joseph, Notting Hill Design, Julien Macdonald and Loewe in Madrid were among the many clients who took advantage of her flair for design and innovation. And it was not just top end labels in Jane’s portfolio; she also designed for High Street collection labels, including French Connection and Next.

In 2011, Jane decided it was time to put her name on her own collection of handbags and leather accessories and the inspiration for her various designs have come from many eclectic sources. The Art Deco period is a particular favorite of hers, along with the glamorous era of film in the 40’s and 50’s.

Handcrafted by artisans in Europe, Jane Goodchild Handbags are stylish, innovative and functional.
